STS Pulmonary Updates 2011

Welcome Message

On behalf of the Singapore Thoracic Society, we invite you to be a part of STS Pulmonary Updates 2011. This meeting is a key biennial event in the Society’s CME calendar, and whether you are a seasoned specialist or a trainee doctor, a nurse, or an allied health practitioner, the scientific programme will provide you with the latest clinical and research information to aid you in the care of your patients. We have chosen “Advances in Understanding and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases” as the conference theme, and joining our local faculty, we have several eminent international speakers:

  • Dr Gary Lee (Australia) who is the Editor-in Chief for the journal Respirology;
  • Dr Daniel Culver who is an expert in sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease from Cleveland Clinic, USA;
  • Assoc Prof Roslina A Manap who is the President, Malaysian Thoracic Society; and
  • Dr Lim Wei Shen, renowned for his work in pneumonia from UK.

In addition, we have lined up an exciting pre-conference workshop on Thoracic Ultrasound, Pleural Procedures and Pleuroscopy. With introductory lectures and practical hands-on sessions, this workshop will be useful to respiratory physicians and trainees.

We look forward to meeting you at the STS Pulmonary Updates 2011.

Dr Benjamin Ho
